A global pitch competition for grades 9–12 and college freshmen. Submit your idea for a chance to win up to $5,000, pitch to real investors, and present live at Stanford.

Youth Business Venture Challenge

Hosted by SVYEP and Berkeley Summit House

The Youth Business Venture Challenge is a premier pitch competition for high school students, offering over $12,000 in prize money. To enter, you'll need to submit a 5–10 minute video along with a business plan or product demo showcasing your idea. Finalists will be invited to pitch live at Stanford University in front of a panel of top investors and founders from across Silicon Valley. Lunch, snacks, and drinks will be provided throughout the day.

Qualified in the Top 15?

  • Students will receive an email with detailed instructions on confirmation and location
  • Students MUST have a slideshow ready and sent to svyep.official@gmail.com before the morning of September 28th to present live
  • Slideshows are required but students may incorporate visuals including short videos
  • Presentation may be no longer than 10 minutes each with up to 5 minutes of questions

Submission Requirements

  • A 5–10 minute video explaining your idea
  • A business plan or product demo, such as a deck, prototype, or concept doc

You may attach slides or visuals (e.g., Canva) to help clarify your pitch.

Team Requirements

  • Teams must have 1–3 members
  • Open to high school students (grades 9–12) and rising college freshmen

Business Idea Scope

You may pitch any entrepreneurial idea — product, platform, or service — but we encourage ideas with large market potential and room for long-term growth.

Judging Criteria

Your submission will be evaluated based on:
